Philip Bell is a documentary filmmaker and photographer. His work explores the relationship between communities and their environments; how physical spaces both influence people and are shaped by their presence. His first film, J’ouvert, was exhibited at Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) and screened at Margaret Mead Film among others. His work as a cinematographer has spanned from independent documentary films, such as This Is National Wake, to numerous commercial productions. He is a  member of the Bronx Filmmakers collective and was a recipient  of the BRIO award from the Bronx Council of the Arts.
