At the city’s edge

Shot along a part of Brooklyn’s coast, this series explores the physical landscape of two outlying neighborhoods where the ocean meets the city. During the summer both Brighton Beach and Coney Island are a retreat for millions of overheated New Yorker’s. But in the offseason, devoid of the large crowds, the beach takes on a more dreamlike atmosphere. For eight years I lived at this converging point between ocean and metropolis where I was drawn to the surreal, poetic moments which are otherwise washed away by New York Cities cascading speed.
